Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship 2024-25

Swiss Government has announced the Excellence scholarship for Pakistani students for the academic year 2025.

Each year the Swiss Confederation awards Excellence Scholarships to promote international exchange and research cooperation between Switzerland and over 180 other countries. Recipients are selected by the awarding body, the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS). For more scholarships click here.

Prospective applicants may study in the following categories.

1. 1-year Research after Masters
2. 3-year PhD after Masters
3. 1-Year Post Doctorate

Eligibility Criteria for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships 2025

To be eligible for the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Acceptance Letter Requirement: Applicants must secure an acceptance letter from a professor at a Swiss university. Understanding how to obtain an acceptance letter is crucial for your application.
• Degree Requirements:
  • For PhD and Post-doc programs, applicants must hold a master’s degree equivalent to a Swiss master’s degree.
  • For the Master’s program, applicants need a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a Swiss bachelor’s degree.
• Nationality and Residency Requirements:
  • Applicants must be nationals of a country that has diplomatic relations with Switzerland.
  • Scholarship holders must be able to relocate to Switzerland for the study period.
  • Applicants residing in Switzerland for more than one year are ineligible to apply.
  • Those who have previously received a Swiss Government grant are not eligible.
• Country-Specific Eligibility for Master’s Program: Eligibility criteria for the master’s program vary slightly by country. To check the specific requirements, select your country: Countries A – L / Countries M – Z.
